Dedicated Case Managers support families throughout the rare disease journey and provide the expertise needed to help make the process of getting treatment easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph core-block core-paragraph\">One of the core support services provided by PTC&nbsp;<em>Cares<\/em> is <strong>Specialty Pharmacy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph core-block core-paragraph\"><strong>What is a specialty pharmacy?<\/strong> Like many other therapies for rare diseases, medications from PTC Therapeutics are distributed through pharmacies that are specially trained to handle them and can deliver them directly to patients. Specialty pharmacies can provide services, information and support that regular pharmacies don\u2019t offer. PTC&nbsp;<em>Cares<\/em> works closely with a patient\u2019s specialty pharmacy throughout their treatment to coordinate the delivery of their medication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph core-block core-paragraph\">Together, the specialty pharmacy and Case Manager will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph core-block core-paragraph\"><strong>Help schedule deliveries:<\/strong> PTC&nbsp;<em>Cares <\/em>helps patients schedule their shipments to make sure their medication is delivered where and when they need it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph core-block core-paragraph\"><strong>Provide refill reminders: <\/strong>It\u2019s critical that patients get their medication on time, so Case Managers proactively monitor when refills are due and provide timely reminders to schedule them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph core-block core-paragraph\">It may be confusing when patients first start working with a specialty pharmacy, so Case Managers are always available to answer any questions about working with the specialty pharmacy.<\/p>\n\n\n<div  class=\"text-block text-block--standard color-theme--sky-blue-partial\">\n\t\t<div class=\"text-block__wrapper\" >\n\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"text-block__heading\">\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"heading--3\"  data-ptc-fitty=\"\">Get to know PTC Cares Case Managers, Rick<\/span>\n\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\n\t\t<div class=\"text-block__content wysiwyg--decoration wysiwyg--color\">\n\t\t\t<p>Rick brings a diverse skill set and is a dependable resource for all kinds of families.
